WILDLY CURIOUS
Frequently Asked Questions...
Please contact us if you have a question that we haven't answered here...
Q: What time of year do you run parties?
A: Wildly Curious runs parties throughout the year. Remember- there's no such thing as bad weather - only bad clothes! Warming/cooling drinks are available during sessions.
Q: My child has a dietary requirement/food allergy - will you still be able to cater for them?
A: Certainly - we request that all parents/carers complete a consent form prior to their child participating in a Wildly Curious event or party; there is space on this form to indicate a requirement or allergy. Download it by clicking one of the buttons below. Or better still, complete it directly on the website using the link in the tab above.

Q: Your parties and events take place outdoors - what should my child wear?
A: Clothes that are suitable for the conditions - layers that can be added to avoid getting cold, or removed to avoid overheating. Old clothes are perfect. Long trousers and long sleeved tops are necessary when working/cooking with fire. A waterproof coat is essential in wet weather. Trainers or walking boots are ideal or wellies for when the grass is wet. Definitely no flipflops or sandals.

Q: Can I bring along a birthday cake for the party?
A: Yes. Please also bring a knife. Sparkler-type candles are the best as they'll stay alight in windy conditions.

Q: My child has invited 11 friends to their birthday party. Can their brother/sister come too?
A: 12 children is an ideal number for a party at the bushcraft shelter. The sibling can be present, but they will remain the responsibility of the extra adults and will only be able to join in the activities at the instructor's discretion. Larger group sizes by special arrangement at an extra cost (this option is not available for an archery party).

Q: Do you provide Wildly Curious party invitations?
A: Yes. These will be emailed to you on booking. They can be printed at home. We also provide Thank You cards.

Q: I've read on your website that some of your sessions involve fire and sharp objects. Can you assure me that my child will be safe and not get hurt?
A: Each Wildly Curious activity is carefully planned, tried, tested and risk assessed. While this can never totally guarantee that first aid incidents won't happen, activities are carried out in a controlled environment and are closely supervised. Safety is paramount.

Q: Can my child bring their own penknife to a Bushcraft Party?
A: No. This avoids potential breaches of the UK Knife Laws. Also, we provide all tools, ensure that they are suitable for use by particular age groups and are kept in good working condition.

Q: How do I pay?
A: Payment by bank transfer is our preferred method. Wildly Curious will email you our bank details with your booking confirmation. A £30 deposit is required on booking parties. Please note that your booking is not confirmed until the deposit has been paid. Full payment is required at least two weeks prior to your party. Full Terms and Conditions can be downloaded here.
